Will Breathing Exercises Harm the voice or produce bad habbits?

So lets assume I’m practicing my breathing exercises perfectly, I’ve heard that these exercises will produce bad habits and damage a person’s voice because it makes it too airy or some other complication. I thought these exercises just helped strengthen a singer’s control over their breath, am I wrong?

You will only create bad habits if you do the breathing exercises wrong. Ask your singing teacher (if you have one) if you are concerned about your technique.

  1. No, they don’t cause harm unless you’re doing them with bad technique.
